Sankori’s Political Advice and Journey to Presidency

Sankori provided political advice to Deputy President William Ruto in the run-up to the 2022 general elections. He emphasized the necessity for Ruto to seek the blessings of former President Daniel Moi to achieve success in 2022. Sankori, who had previously served as an assistant minister, even expressed his willingness to mediate between the two politicians.

“We also believe Ruto can make a good leader and this is the reason we are asking him to seek Moi’s blessings which he badly needs.” – Sankori said.

“I am ready to be part of the reconciliation team. We need a serious team of elders from Rift Valley to travel to Kabarak to meet with Mzee Moi.”

However, Moi died and the negotiations did not take place. Nevertheless, Ruto won the subsequent electionsins, defeating opposition leader Raila Odinga to become the country’s fifth president.
