Qatar Meteorology Predicts Strong Winds for the Weekend

Date:

Doha, Qatar – The Qatar Meteorology Department has issued a strong wind and high sea warning for offshore areas this weekend.

According to the latest forecast, temperatures from today through Saturday, November 16, are expected to range between 22°C and 32°C. The weather on Friday and Saturday will start-off hazy, with some cloud cover anticipated in the evenings.

Winds will predominantly blow from the northwest, reaching speeds of 5-16 knots, with gusts occasionally peaking at 24-25 knots offshore. Additionally, sea conditions are expected to be rough, with wave heights fluctuating between 3 to 6 feet, and at times surging up to 10 feet.

This warning follows an earlier marine advisory issued on November 12, which remains in effect through the weekend. Mariners are advised to exercise caution due to the heightened sea conditions.
