Ukrainians create a heat recovery boiler that runs on solid waste

Date:

Ukrainians created a heat recovery boiler that runs on solid waste. The Alligator heat boiler – is the winner of Kyiv’s Sikorsky Challenge 2022 festival of innovative projects. The project was awarded the $5,000 development scholarship from the GIST program and won in the Infrastructure and Industrial High Tech category. This innovative technology aims to provide an environmentally friendly solution to waste disposal and cheap heat generation.

Environmentally Friendly Solution

The Alligator heat boiler operates on combustible solid household and industrial waste, such as rubber, plastic, leather, and textiles. It can also work on traditional fuels like coal, peat, and firewood. The boiler design allows the use of any fraction of fuel, including car tires of the appropriate diameter. With high gasification and combustion temperature, the Alligator heat boiler guarantees complete destruction and disinfection of the used fuel. The emissions comply with European standards, making it an eco-friendly choice for waste disposal and heat generation.

The Benefits of Alligator Heat Boiler

The potential consumers of the utilization complex can be energy generating enterprises, enterprises with their combustible waste, enterprises with high energy consumption, and communities interested in environmental protection. This innovative technology generates energy from waste incineration that can be used to provide hot water to apartment buildings. The cost of 1 kW of thermal energy ranges from UAH 1.2 to UAH 0.1, making it an affordable and cost-effective solution for many.

The team behind Alligator heat boiler notes that the first installed boiler has been successfully operating for seven years. With this eco-friendly technology, they hope to reduce environmental pollution caused by traditional waste disposal methods and provide an affordable solution for heat generation. The Alligator heat boiler is a promising invention that can provide heat and reduce waste, contributing to the development of a sustainable and cleaner future.
