In an inspiring testament to resilience and solidarity, wounded soldiers from Ukraine’s elite Artan and Shaman special forces units, operating under the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, took part in the prestigious 2024 U.S. Marine Corps Marathon.
The annual marathon, which has been held since 1976, spans Washington, DC, and Arlington, Virginia, and is organized by the U.S. Marine Corps to promote physical fitness and community engagement. The event attracts thousands of participants worldwide, celebrating determination and perseverance.
This year, Ukrainian soldiers dedicated their participation to the memory of their fallen comrades and as a powerful reminder to the international community of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
