Ukrainian musician creates electric cars that run for free

Date:

Taras Zemko, a musician from Drohobych, Ukraine, has found a new hobby in designing and building his own electric cars. He has already created two vehicles – a three-wheeled pedal-powered car for his son and a four-wheeled electric car that can travel up to 70 km/h and carry two passengers.

Inspiration from Childhood

Taras’ musical talent was discovered by his teacher when he was a child. Following his teacher’s suggestion, he attended music school and later a conservatory. His love for creating electric cars, however, was inspired by his son’s school project. Taras built the first car using a 600-watt motor. During the COVID-19 quarantine, he had more free time and started working on his second vehicle, which he built using 90 kg of pottery clay and a fiberglass molding.

“If you work every day, you can make a car of this type in six months. However, I worked longer, there were always some nuances, a lot of things needed to be repaired and improved,” said Taras Zemko.

Positive Public Reaction

Despite not being recognized as “full-fledged cars” by the police, Taras’ electric cars have received a lot of attention from the public. People have taken pictures of the unique vehicles on the road. Taras believes that the best advantage of his electric cars is that they run for free, which is similar to a mobile phone. He charges his 7300 kW battery for about five hours, and then the car can travel up to 120 kilometers.

Future Plans

Taras has received offers to monetize his creations, but he has refused due to the bureaucratic red tape involved. Instead, he is focused on his music career and plans to buy a new electric car for the summer. Taras believes that anyone can learn new skills and create something unique with passion, dedication, and creativity.

Taras Zemko’s story is an inspiring example of how people can find new hobbies. Despite being a musician by profession, Taras has found joy in creating unique electric cars that run for free.
