New Ukrainian-made drone assembles in 5 hours without glue

Date:

Engineer Vitaliy Bryzgalov and his team have created a unique drone, the Cobra, which can be assembled without glue, dust or resin, and at a lower cost than other similar technologies. It took the team 8 months to develop the project, and the drone itself takes only 3 hours to assemble, with another 2 hours required for the engine, propeller and electronics.

Revolutionary Design

Bryzgalov has shared details of the project on his Facebook page, noting that the Cobra is a completely new design. The team’s goal was to create a drone that could be assembled quickly and without the use of traditional materials such as foam, wood, composites, glass, fiberglass or carbon fiber. After trying various materials, they dwelled on metal as the base for their design.

Innovative Technology

With a well-calculated airframe design and sophisticated assembly process, the Cobra can take on completely different shapes and sizes in just 3-5 days. It is a technology that offers a high degree of flexibility, allowing the team to build an eight-winged one-bolt lancet, for example.

Bryzgalov and his team are dedicated to the project and are working hard to continue to improve the technology. The team is now focused on localizing components, including the engine injector, servos, and sensors, controllers, communication, and navigation.

“These are all very complex and expensive things that would cost millions, and since we don’t have such resources, we do them as volunteer engineers, and thanks to your support, we are able to buy materials, tools, and equipment.

Thanks to everyone who helps, who finds and provides components. Those who donate to the development of these technologies. Those who spread the word to increase the circle of support. Thank you for helping us and helping them,” Vitaliy Bryzgalov said on his Facebook page.

Affordable and Accessible

The Cobra drone offers a low-cost solution for military and civilian applications. The technology is affordable, with high component localization reducing the risks of logistics and suppliers. This also allows the team to get the lowest price from the manufacturer.

The Cobra drone is an impressive innovation in drone technology. Most importantly, the low-cost solution makes the technology accessible for military and civilian use.
