Residents of Vinnytsia, Ukraine, have an exciting opportunity to receive free tree seedlings by recycling their waste. The city has launched an initiative that allows people to trade their recyclables for eco-points, which they can then use to purchase seedlings for linden, sakura, or magnolia trees.
Easy Access to Free Tree Seedlings
To participate in the initiative, people simply need to download the Eco-Service app onto their mobile phones and register. They can then start collecting recyclables such as waste paper, scrap metal, plastic or glass bottles, and plastic bags. When they have collected 30 kilograms of recyclables, they can call the eco-mobile for free, which will come and collect the waste.
“For this, the user is awarded eco-points. We also call them ‘karma points’, which are displayed in the app,” says Olha Malynovska.
The app makes it easy for people to exchange their eco-points for seedlings, which they can plant wherever they like. All the user needs to do is place an order for the seedlings, and the app will pay the bill. The initiative aims to encourage people to sort their waste and make recycling a habit.
Encouraging People to Sort their Waste
The Eco-Service app has a map of recycling centers in Vinnytsia, where people can take their recyclables for immediate payment. The app provides detailed instructions on what is recyclable and what is not, and it also indicates the types of raw materials that are accepted. The initiative aims to educate people on the importance of sorting their waste, as it can have a significant impact on the environment.
The main goal of the project is to restore Ukraine’s ecology by encouraging people to plant trees and recycle their waste. The initiative in Vinnytsia is an innovative way to encourage people to make recycling a habit and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.
