Ukraine’s futsal team beats France to claim historic World Cup bronze

In a remarkable achievement, Ukraine’s futsal team made history by claiming the bronze medal at the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024. The team delivered an outstanding performance, defeating France 7-1 in the third-place match held on October 6 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

This victory marks Ukraine’s first podium finish in the tournament since 1996 when they finished fourth in Spain. Under the leadership of Oleksandr Kosenko, the team showcased determination and skill, making their nation proud on the global futsal stage.

Their remarkable journey continued with a 3-1 victory over the Netherlands in the Round of 16 and a commanding 9-4 win against Venezuela in the quarterfinals. Despite a narrow 2-3 loss to Brazil in the semifinals, the team proved their mettle by securing the bronze medal in a dominating performance against France.
