The United Arab Emirates has sent its fifteenth plane loaded with essential aid to Lebanon as part of its ongoing “UAE Stands with Lebanon” initiative.
This latest delivery includes 40 tonnes of crucial food supplies, specifically designed to support children, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to assisting Lebanon through challenging times.
Launched under the guidance of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the campaign has dispatched 672 tonnes of relief since early October, providing much-needed resources to the people of Lebanon.
Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court, have closely overseen the operation.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations, emphasized the UAE leadership’s dedication to responding swiftly to humanitarian needs and alleviating the hardships faced by Lebanese communities.
He underscored that this mission aligns with the UAE’s long-standing humanitarian legacy, a value deeply ingrained within UAE society and inspired by the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed.
Beyond air shipments, the UAE has also provided aid by sea, including a recent delivery of 2,000 tonnes aboard a relief ship that docked in Beirut.
Altogether, the UAE has sent 2,772 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Lebanon and Syria since the campaign’s inception, with 772 tonnes going to Lebanon and Syria by air and an additional 2,000 tonnes by sea.
The UAE is also extending its humanitarian support to Syrians returning from Lebanon to Syria, coordinating with Emirati charity organizations to provide resources aimed at fostering early recovery, enhancing stability, and reducing the impact of the ongoing crisis on displaced populations.
