UAE Establishes New Aid Entity to Boost Global Humanitarian Efforts

Date:

The UAE is planning on establishing the UAE Aid Agency – a specialized entity charged with scaling up the UAE’s international humanitarian and development work.

The agency shall be established under the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council and granted full legal powers for the independent management and implementation of its programs.

The UAE Aid Agency shall undertake the delivery of disaster relief, post-conflict reconstruction, and capacity-building efforts around the world.

This corresponds to the commitment of the UAE toward sustainable development and global humanitarian needs, building its reputation as a leader in philanthropy.

His Excellency Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, pointed out that its establishment was a translation of the vision of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose legacy in philanthropy guides the current course of the nation.

This agency represents the natural evolution of the long-standing UAE mission to provide support and assistance around the world, said Sheikh Mansour.

His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan gave a remark that the UAE Aid Agency plays a strategic role in enhancing efficiency and the scope of aid reach by the UAE.

The UAE has provided more than 98 billion dollars in aid, benefiting more than one billion people worldwide since its foundation.

The creation of this agency signifies a commitment to enhance these efforts, with a clear focus on aiding vulnerable communities, responding to crises, and promoting development projects worldwide.

The establishment of the UAE Aid Agency means the UAE is about to make deeper impacts on the international effort for humanitarian support, further consolidating its leading position in support and development around the world.

Probably, it would be responsible for guiding UAE’s aid undertakings toward sustainable development and immediate humanitarian crises in different parts of the globe.
