The Ministry of Digital Affairs spoke about a global project that will connect Europe and Asia via the Internet

According to the project, the Internet connection between Europe and Asia will pass through Ukraine.

The Internet cable, which should connect Europe and Asia, will pass through Ukraine. There are plans to build an underwater cable across the Black Sea.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
It is noted that the project is being carried out by Vodafone Group together with the Ministry of Digital Affairs. They agreed on cooperation in the field of global Internet communications.
According to the project, the Internet connection between Europe and Asia will pass through Ukraine. The project includes the construction of an underwater cable across the Black Sea, the opening of new data centers and the strengthening of the existing network.
The department indicated that of the 5.4 billion Internet users in the world, more than half are concentrated in Asia and the Middle East. Thanks to this project, Ukraine can become the digital hub of Europe.
It was also previously reported that, in 2016, Facebook and Google announced their desire to lay an Internet cable to China at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
And in 2019, it became known that the Facebook company is developing a large-scale plan to lay an underwater fiber optic Internet cable around Africa. The cable should run along the western, eastern and Mediterranean coasts, although the exact route is still unknown. The project was called Simba.
Already on August 19, Tanzania provided high-speed Internet to Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest peak in Africa – 5,895 meters.
