Rayssa Leal Triumphs at Tokyo SLS: A Step Closer to the Super Crown

Rayssa Leal continues to elevate the world of skateboarding, clinching victory at the Tokyo stage of the 2024 Street League Skateboarding (SLS) circuit. Competing in the Ariake Arena, the two-time world champion showcased resilience and skill, securing her place in the prestigious Super Crown Final in São Paulo this December.

A Thrilling Performance

In a nail-biting finale, Rayssa executed a remarkable maneuver scoring 7.9 points, leading to a total of 30.7. Her final lap triumph placed her ahead of local skaters Liz Akama, who scored 30.1 points, and Coco Yoshizawa, the Olympic gold medalist, who finished with 29.4.

Rayssa’s performance in the qualifiers was equally noteworthy. Despite experiencing discomfort during her first heat, she delivered a stunning score of 8.1 on her penultimate attempt, setting the stage for her victory.

Making History

This victory marks Rayssa’s 18th consecutive SLS final, setting a record streak across both men’s and women’s competitions. It’s also her second podium win of the season, adding to her impressive collection of titles, including a bronze medal from the Paris Olympics.

Road to the Super Crown Final

Rayssa’s determination now turns to the Super Crown Final on December 14–15 at São Paulo’s Ibirapuera Gymnasium. With an unparalleled track record and the support of her fans, she aims for an unprecedented third title in the women’s category.

In the men’s division, Brazil’s Giovanni Vianna is set to compete for his second Super Crown title, adding to the excitement of the championship event.
