The Luxeed S7, an electric sedan born from the collaboration between Chery and Huawei, is now more affordable in China, with price cuts of up to $4,100 aimed at boosting its market performance. The updated pricing now ranges from 229,800 yuan to 319,800 yuan (approximately $31,700 to $44,100), making it more competitive in the growing EV market.
A Second Chance for the Luxeed S7
First launched in November 2023, the Luxeed S7 faced significant challenges. Delays in delivery and a failure to meet customer expectations resulted in limited sales, with only 2,297 units sold between November 2023 and February 2024. Despite a relaunch in April 2024 with minor upgrades, sales volumes only reached 24,224 units by October.
On November 26, 2024, Chery and Huawei introduced the updated Luxeed S7 with reduced prices to attract more buyers. The new pricing strategy aims to revitalize the model’s appeal and enhance its sales momentum.
