Within the framework of the visit to the Republic of Poland, the first Lady of Ukraine Elena Zelensko opened the “Ukrainian bookshelf” in the main library of Mazowiecki military establishment in Warsaw. Together with Ambassador of Ukraine in Poland Vasyl Zvarych, she met representatives of the Ukrainian community, activists and temporarily moved Ukrainian citizens.

Thus, thanks to the initiative of Olena Zelenska, a collection of Ukrainian books for adults and the youngest readers appeared in the book fund of one of the largest and oldest public libraries in Poland. Within the scope of the project, the Ukrainian editions will also pass books to the district book collections of Mazowiecki military, whose activities are coordinated by the Main Library.

“The books will be adult and children’s editions, which will allow our citizens to read their own language. And others – to understand Ukraine, Ukrainians as best as possible and to get acquainted with our history, philosophy, culture. Actually, this is the aim of the project – understanding through culture,” Elena Zelenska said.

The books for the object were sent within the framework of the actions “Ukrainian Book Post”, “Ukrainian Children – Ukrainian Book”, “Books without borders”, which are implemented jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy and the Ukrainian Institute of the book in cooperation with the State Committee of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine.
