In a groundbreaking move to enhance the transparency and credibility of Ghana’s electoral process, a new digital platform called iCollate has been launched. This citizen-driven initiative aims to empower Ghanaians to actively participate in the collation of polling station results, ensuring accountability and trust in the electoral system.
Developed by Wigal Vision Ltd, a Ghanaian ICT software company, iCollate enables users to upload polling station results, submit photographic and video evidence, and access real-time updates across the nation. The App is accessible via the Google Play Store, Apple Store, the website iCollate.app, and for non-smartphone users, through the shortcode 8002024#.
The launch of iCollate comes at a pivotal moment in Ghana’s democratic journey. By providing a transparent, inclusive tool for election monitoring, the platform allows citizens to hold the electoral process accountable. The App operates independently and does not project election winners or interfere with the powers of the Electoral Commission (EC). Instead, it serves as a supplementary tool to strengthen the collation process.
The Project Lead for iCollate emphasized, “Elections are not only about casting votes but also about ensuring every vote is accounted for. iCollate is a collective effort by Ghanaians to protect our democracy and promote transparency. It’s a platform designed to enable citizens to take an active role in ensuring free and fair elections.”
This innovative initiative highlights the transformative role of technology in fostering democratic accountability. iCollate reinforces the principle of elections “by the People, for the People,” ensuring that every vote is documented and valued.
Ghanaians now have a powerful new way to safeguard the integrity of their democracy. Join the movement and make your voice count with iCollate.
