Toronto (Canada) – Ethiopian Airlines Celebrates Global Success with Two Prestigious Awards

Ethiopian Airlines continues its impressive streak of international acclaim, recently adding two major accolades to its growing list of achievements. This recognition follows closely on the heels of winning the “2025 APEX Passenger Choice Award” for outstanding service.

Business Traveller Award 2024
This week, Ethiopian Airlines secured its fifth consecutive win as the Best African Airline at the Business Traveller Awards 2024. Organized by Business Traveller Magazine, the award celebrates excellence in the travel and hospitality sectors, based on votes from its global readership.

The airline proudly announced this accomplishment on Friday: “We are delighted to share that Ethiopian Airlines has been recognized as the ‘Best African Airline’ at the Business Traveller Awards 2024! This marks our fifth consecutive win. Thank you to our loyal customers for your unwavering support!”

CEO Mesfin Tasew expressed his appreciation for the dedication of the airline’s team and the significance of this milestone: “Winning the Business Traveller Award for five years in a row is a testament to our team’s commitment, dedication, and tireless efforts. This recognition is especially meaningful as we celebrate the arrival of Africa’s first Airbus A350-1000. My deepest gratitude goes to our hardworking employees and partners who have been instrumental in our success.”

Best Cargo Airline – Africa
In addition to its recognition for passenger services, Ethiopian Airlines was also named “Best Cargo Airline – Africa” at the Arabian Cargo Awards in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, earlier this week. The awards celebrate outstanding achievements in the cargo and logistics industries across the Gulf region.

The airline emphasized the significance of this award: “Being recognized at the Arabian Cargo Awards is a testament to our commitment to excellence in air cargo services across Africa and beyond.”

With the largest air cargo network on the continent, Ethiopian Airlines is a leading player in global logistics, connecting 140 destinations worldwide.

Future Vision: Becoming a Global Cargo Powerhouse by 2035
Looking forward, Ethiopian Airlines has set its sights on further expanding its cargo operations. The airline plans to rank among the world’s top 20 cargo carriers by 2035, focusing on Freight Tonne Kilometers (FTK). Its goal is to deliver safe, customer-centric air cargo, courier, and mail services, thereby solidifying its leadership position in both passenger and freight sectors.

These awards underscore Ethiopian Airlines’ unwavering commitment to excellence, cementing its status as a frontrunner in African aviation and a significant competitor on the global stage.
