Country duo, sisters Ivy Dene and Sophie Dawn, empower women through fashion

Date:

Nashville-based country music duo, Walker County, made up of sisters Ivy Dene and Sophie Dawn, has joined forces with the Able brand and GoodMrkt boutique to curate a fashion collection in support of women’s empowerment and body positivity. The collection, named “Mirror Mirror”, features apparel, jewelry, and leather goods from Able and is available at the GoodMrkt store in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Empowering Women Through Fashion

The collection’s name is also the focus track of Walker County’s new EP, “No Smoke and Mirrors”. The sisters aim to empower women to feel confident in their own skin and celebrate the person they see in the mirror. This message ties in closely with Able’s mission of bringing employment opportunities to disadvantaged women and communities worldwide.

“At Able we create opportunities for women to step into something beautiful and meaningful, from the makers to you,” said Sarah Deveney, director of partnerships. “Whoever you are, wherever you are, we believe you are able just as you are. This message ties so closely to what Ivy and Sophie are sharing through their “Mirror Mirror” EP — empowering women to feel the beauty of the person looking back at them.”

Making a Difference Through Purpose-Driven Brands

GoodMrkt is a boutique that sells purpose-driven brands, such as Able, at their store and online. “GoodMrkt is a community of makers and creators who embrace the challenges of the world and dare to make a difference, and that’s exactly what Ivy and Sophie are doing through their music and the Mirror Mirror collection,” said Harry Cunningham, founder and managing partner of GoodMrkt.

The sisters’ initiative to promote women’s empowerment and body positivity through fashion is a positive step forward in the industry. It’s encouraging to witness the impact that purpose-driven brands and artists can have on the world, and we hope to see more of this in the future.
