The Cameroon Cultural Network (CCN) has launched its second season with the CCN Tour 2023 project, aimed at networking national cultural spaces to promote Cameroonian performances and strengthen the network of cultural operators in the country. The opening night of the project was hosted by the Cameroon Center for Reading and Animation in Yaoundé.
Ambassador Van Damme of the European Union, who was present at the event, congratulated all those involved in the development of the project.
“The European Union and all the partners were keen to support this project, which aims to rebuild community life, develop entrepreneurship and employment and, above all, promote cultural heritage,” he said.
Call for Proposals for CCN Tour 2023
As part of the CCN Tour 2023 project, the CCN launched a call for proposals to select 10 artists to take part in 10 artistic productions and perform at partner venues in nine cities in Cameroon. The categories chosen for this competition include recitation, dance, music, theater, and the plastic arts, among others.
Representative Edmond Mballa Elanga of the Minister of Arts and Culture (Minac) welcomed the initiative, stating that it is a great opportunity for young people who have chosen careers in arts and culture. He added that Minac intends to do its part to further promote this initiative.
Excitement Among the Winners
Laurita Ngringeh, who was selected in the theater category, expressed her excitement and gratitude for being chosen, stating that she is ready to give her best in all her performances. Meanwhile, Chris Walter Ngami won the logo presentation contest.
The CCN Tour 2023 project is an excellent opportunity for young Cameroonian artists to showcase their talent, gain professional integration, and contribute to the development of the country’s cultural heritage. The project also aims to promote community life and entrepreneurship, with the support of the European Union and other partners.
This initiative will influence the cultural landscape of Cameroon. The CCN’s efforts to strengthen the network of cultural operators in Cameroon and promote Cameroonian performances will help to build a vibrant and diverse cultural sector in the country.
