Date:

Preply, a Ukrainian online platform that connects over 40,000 tutors to students worldwide, has been ranked 73rd on the Marketplace 100 list by venture capital fund Andreessen Horowitz. This ranking is based on the annual gross merchandise volume (GMV) of the companies included on the list, which is calculated by comparing sales data from January to December 2022 to that of the previous year.

Impressive Success for Preply

Preply’s inclusion on this prestigious list for the second year in a row highlights its impressive success as an e-learning marketplace. The platform offers tutoring services in 50 languages and has students from 180 countries.

“We are glad that Preply has been included in the list of the 100 best marketplaces in the world for the second year in a row by Andreessen Horowitz in their annual ranking.

Given that a significant part of the team was in Ukraine when the war broke out a year ago, it is impossible to overestimate how proud I am of this collective achievement,” wrote in LinkedIn the company’s co-founder, Kirill Bigai.

Connecting Tutors and Students Worldwide

Founded in 2013 by Sergey Lukyanov, Dmitry Voloshin, and Kirill Bigai, Preply has become a go-to platform for those looking to learn a new language or improve their language skills. With the COVID-19 pandemic accelerating the shift to online learning, the platform’s popularity has soared, and it has now become one of the world’s leading e-learning marketplaces. Preply’s mission is to make education more accessible and affordable to people around the world, and it is achieving this by connecting tutors and students from all corners of the globe.

Preply’s inclusion in the Marketplace 100 list for the second year in a row is a testament to the platform’s success in connecting tutors and students worldwide and result of commiting to make education more accessible.
