The campaign is not just about providing reading material, it is also about helping Ukrainian children maintain their emotional connection with their country. The campaign has been promoted with the support of publishers at various book fairs, where Ukraine was actively represented.
International support for Ukrainian authors
The success of the campaign has led to an increased interest in Ukrainian literature in other countries. In France and Germany, books by contemporary Ukrainian authors are being translated into French and German, and French and German authors are being translated into Ukrainian. These countries allocate special funds to promote this process. Ukraine has also launched the “European Books for Ukrainian Youth” project, which sees European countries donating high-quality European books to Ukraine. The Books Without Borders project has also distributed more than 200,000 books for children abroad.
