Ukraine wins 26 awards in diving at the World Cup

Ukraine Takes Home 26 Medals in Underwater Sports World Cup

Ukraine has emerged as the champions of the World Cup in underwater sports for adults and juniors, held in Lignano-Sabbiadoro, Italy. The Ukrainian team won a total of 26 medals, including 13 golds, 7 silvers, and 6 bronzes.

Individual Achievements

Several Ukrainian athletes won gold in various categories. David Eliseev won gold in the 100m, 200m, and 400m races in flippers. Victoria Uvarova emerged victorious in the 50m diving and 100m in fins events. Meanwhile, Yevheniia Tymoshenko, Tetiana Penina, Anastasiia Makarenko, Yelyzaveta Grechikhina, Sofia Lamakh, and Sofia Grechko won gold in the 50m, 200m, 100m in white flippers, 400m in flippers, 100m in white flippers, and 400m in flippers races respectively.

The women’s team consisting of Anastasia Antoniak, Kateryna Vashchenko, Sofia Grechko, and Victoria Uvarova won gold in the 4x100m relay in fins. The girls’ team (Anastasia Makarenko, Valeria Yachnyk, Alexa Ponomarchuk, Elizaveta Grechikhina) and the boys’ team (David Eliseev, Sergey Smishchenko, Alexander Kuzmenko, Alexei Zakharov) also won gold in the 4x100m flipper relay.

Other Medalists

Apart from the gold medalists, many other Ukrainian athletes won silver and bronze medals in different categories. Victoria Uvarova won silver in the 100m in fins, Anastasia Makarenko won silver in 50m diving and 100m in fins, Tatyana Penina won silver in 100m in fins, Nikita Pribylo won silver in 50m diving, Alexey Zakharov won silver in 400m in fins, and Artem Baksheev, Varvara Maltseva, Igor Goldansky, and Tatyana Penina won silver in the 4x100m mixed medley relay.

Ukraine also won several bronze medals, with Evgenia Tymoshenko, Anastasia Antoniak, Victoria Uvarova, Anastasia Makarenko, Igor Goldansky, and the Ukrainian teams winning in the 4x100m medley relay.

Team Success

According to the results of the competition, the Ukrainian team took the first team place, despite only having 22 athletes competing against 726 participants from 24 other countries.
