Turning Passion into Profession: The Story of Tanzanian DJ Ally B

Date:

Tanzanian DJ Ally Simba, also known as DJ Ally B, has become a sensation in the music industry with his unique mixing style and signature moves. But Ally B’s success was not achieved overnight. He had to work hard and overcome numerous challenges to get to where he is today.

From Dancer to DJ

Ally B started his career as a dancer with a passion for music but no money to pursue his dreams. However, his life changed when a friend who was a DJ at a local club asked him to mix songs for him to play. After his successful performance, the head of the club offered him a job as a DJ. Ally B worked at the club for two years before moving on to a radio station and another club in Arusha. He eventually lost his job due to retrenchment and decided to try his luck in Kenya and Uganda before returning to Tanzania.

A Breakthrough at Mbalamwezi Beach Club

After working at several clubs in different cities, Ally B heard about Maisha Club in Dar es Salaam and wanted to join them. He contacted Maisha Club and Mbalamwezi Beach Club on Facebook, and was eventually offered a job at Mbalamwezi Beach Club. This job finally gave him the breakthrough he had been waiting for. Throughout his journey, Ally B saved most of his salary and used it to help cover small bills at home.

Simba Scratch Academy and St8up Vibes

With his career on the rise, Ally B decided to open his own DJ school called Simba Scratch Academy to train aspiring DJs. He also gained more experience as a freelance DJ at St8up Vibes. Ally B attributes his success to his consistency in practicing his craft, open-mindedness, humility, and patience. He emphasizes the importance of learning from others in one’s field of work to enhance creativity and brilliance. He hopes to inspire upcoming DJs to follow in his footsteps and become hardworking individuals who are living their dreams.

With his unique style Ally B has become a role model for young people in Tanzania and beyond. Ally B’s journey to success serves as an inspiration for aspiring DJs and anyone pursuing their dreams.
