The world’s first IT Smart Hives to appear in Ukraine

Date:

AmoHive, a Ukrainian-Polish start-up, has won the European Bee Award in the “Innovative and technological solutions” category for its automated IT hives. The company aims to establish a permanent apiary equipped with smart hives, where training for children and schoolchildren can take place.

Smart Hives for Research and Innovation

AmoHive has developed a solution that helps scientists study bee diseases and the consequences of their unsuccessful hibernation. Their solution also enables the creation of new food and medicine for bees. AmoHive’s team of engineers, beekeepers, and IT specialists created a smart solution equipped with sensors that transmit information about the state of the hive both inside and outside. This enables research to be conducted faster, more accurately, and in more detail. The testing of the new product is underway in several countries worldwide under different climatic conditions, making the data reliable.
The company plans to increase the level of automation further by designing movable elements of the hive structure to change the parameters and microclimate in the hive, according to commands generated by artificial intelligence.

Encouraging Innovation in Smart Beekeeping

AmoHive also plans to hold several contests for students and specialists in the categories of “Best innovative solution in smart beekeeping,” “Best smart beekeeping research project,” and “Best smart beekeeping training course.” The developers plan to use part of the award money to reward the winners and support beekeepers affected by the war. The timing and conduct of the contests will be announced at a later date.
According to Igor Kurdin, one of the founders of AmoHive, the company plans to continue increasing automation and designing new solutions to help beekeepers worldwide. The company is also planning to expand the new trend of smart beekeeping in Ukraine, especially among young people.
The company’s efforts to encourage innovation and smart beekeeping through contests will undoubtedly benefit the industry in the future.
