Tanzania Open Golf 2024 Wraps Up with Thrilling Performances

The 2024 Vodacom Tanzania Golf Open concluded in grand style with a vibrant closing ceremony at the scenic Kili Golf Course in Arusha. The tournament showcased remarkable talent from across the globe, highlighting the unifying power of sports and boosting Tanzaniaโ€™s standing as a premier destination for international events.

Exceptional Talent on Display

Kenyaโ€™s Greg Snow emerged victorious in the professional category, finishing with an impressive score of -2 (74, 68, 70, 74) after four days of intense play. In the elite amateur category, Sammy Mulama claimed the title with a total score of +16 (76, 77, 75, 76).

The event welcomed over 150 golfers representing countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe, the UK, and host nation Tanzania. The competition featured 72 challenging holes, offering a platform for both emerging and seasoned golfers to shine.

Tanzaniaโ€™s Shining Stars

Tanzaniaโ€™s own Isiaka Daudi secured third place in the amateur category with a score of +22 (85, 74, 74, 77), while Isaac Wanyeche tied for third in the professional category with Kenyaโ€™s Daniel Nduva, both scoring +7 (74, 75, 73, 73). Rwandaโ€™s Celestin Nsanzuwera took second place in the professional category with a score of +6 (77, 69, 73, 75).

Celebrating Success

The winners were awarded trophies and cash prizes, presented by Agapinus Tax, Vodacom Tanzaniaโ€™s Director of Tax and Compliance. In his address, Tax applauded the Tanzania Golf Union (TGU) and its partners for organizing a successful event and emphasized the role of sports in fostering unity and community engagement.

โ€œThis tournament has not only showcased exceptional talent but also highlighted the unifying power of sports across Africa,โ€ said Tax. He further commended the eventโ€™s positive impact on Arushaโ€™s tourism sector and its role in strengthening Tanzaniaโ€™s reputation as a hub for international sporting events.

A Collaborative Effort

Gilman Kasiga, Chairman of the TGU, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, including co-sponsors NMB Bank, BLANQ Marketing and Communications Agency, Serengeti Breweries Ltd, Karibu Camps and Lodges, Karimjee Mobility, and Pepsi.
