Simba SC has given their title aspirations a significant boost after defeating Ihefu 2-0 at the Highland Estates Stadium in Mbarali, Mbeya on Monday afternoon.

Late Goals from Baleke Secure the Win

Simba secured their victory, with Jean Baleke finding the back of the net twice in the final minutes of the game. The first goal came in the 84th minute, before he scored his second just two minutes later with an impressive kick.

Simba is Now in a Strong Position

The win has taken Simba’s tally to 60 points from 25 matches, and they are now just five points behind the current league leaders, Young Africans. Simba is now in a strong position to compete for the championship.

Simba Proves Strong at Highland Estates Stadium

Simba’s victory over Ihefu also highlights their strength at the Highland Estates Stadium. They are the only team in the top four of the league to have won at this venue, with Yanga and Azam losing and Singida Big Stars managing a draw.

Title Race Continues

Despite Simba’s impressive victory, the title race is still far from over. They have a chance to increase their lead. An eight-point gap at the top of the log could be re-created if Yanga win against Kagera Sugar at Azam Complex in the city tomorrow.

Simba SC’s vital 2-0 win over Ihefu has kept their title hopes alive in the Tanzanian Premier League. With just a few matches left to play, the race for the championship is still open, and it will be exciting to see who emerges as the victors.
