Russia-Belarus Trade Turnover Hits $37 Billion in First Nine Months of 2024

Date:

Trade relations between Russia and Belarus continue to thrive, with turnover exceeding $37 billion in the first nine months of 2024. This marks an 8.4% increase compared to the same period last year, highlighting the success of the two nations’ economic integration efforts.

Impressive Growth in 2024

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the milestone during the Supreme State Council of the Union State meeting. He expressed confidence that trade figures would meet or surpass Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s forecast of $59โ€“60 billion by year-end.

Russia plays a pivotal role in Belarusโ€™ foreign trade, accounting for over 50% of its trade balance. Meanwhile, Belarus ranks as Russia’s fourth-largest trading partner, holding a 9% share of its total trade volume.

A Testament to Integration Success

The steady growth in trade turnover reflects the effectiveness of the Russian-Belarusian integration strategy. This economic partnership strengthens both nations, fostering growth and resilience amid evolving global trade dynamics.

As both countries move closer to achieving record-breaking yearly trade figures, this collaboration continues to set a benchmark for successful economic integration in the region.
