Mykola Solskyi discussed the expansion of export routes through the countries of the European Union with the ministers of agriculture of Europe

Date:

Export routes of Ukrainian agricultural products through the countries of the European Union should become stable and essential. Therefore, the cost of transportation to European ports should become cheaper, and logistics at the border should be expanded, – emphasized the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi, during a meeting with EU agriculture ministers within the framework of the EU Council on Agriculture and Fisheries meeting in Brussels.

The Minister underlined that when the food prices are rising, inflation increases, hostilities by the russian federation on the territory of Ukraine are escalating, Europe should be ready for difficulties on the sea route, and therefore, it is necessary to intensively develop the export routes of Ukrainian agricultural products through the EU countries.

“Yes, Ukraine is relying on the support of the EU in the construction of a complex of terminals and a pipeline for vegetable oils and grain loading terminals. Each of the Terminals can offer transportation of up to 2 million tons per year,” said Mykola Solskyi.

In addition, Ukraine offers the EU to define possible routes and schedules for running of Ukrainian grain hoppers across the territories of Poland and Germany, particularly to the Polish port of Gdańsk and the German ports of Rostock and Hamburg.

In order to resolve the problem of the lack of railway rolling stock and trucks for grain transportation in the EU countries, we offer providing 50% subsidies for manufacturing. Our goal is to transport up to 10 million tons of grain annually, summarized Minister Solskyi.
