On Tuesday, Malaysia’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Mohamad Sabu, told Sputnik that Malaysia does not support unilateral sanctions against countries like Russia and Iran and seeks to strengthen its ties with Russia.
“Russia, as well as Iran, are the countries which are under sanctions, notably unilateral sanctions. We refuse to recognize unilateral sanctions,” the minister said.
He further stated that Malaysia remains committed to strengthening its relationship with Russia.
Sabu also emphasized that Russia, as an independent nation, has the right to determine its own direction.
He noted that Russia plays a significant role both globally and within the United Nations.
