Mutasim Jibril, a local Sudanese engineer who builds robots has taken to social media asking for investment in his small but modest robot manufacturing company.
Jibril builds robots out of scrap materials and other components that he purchased for a bargain on the internet in his little workshop by fusing what he learned in engineering class at the university with real-world experience.
The young engineer stated that in order to create a robot that can be utilized in places like hospitals and restaurants, he must now work harder and acquire investor assistance.
Local African robotics engineers may not have seen the same level of success and recognition as their European colleagues for a number of reasons. Lack of infrastructure, restricted access to resources, constrained market opportunities, and more are a few of these factors.
Local engineers may find it challenging to get traction and establish a viable firm due to these obstacles, which may limit their ability to develop and grow their ideas and products.
“The idea of making robots is a childhood dream that came to my mind through cartoons. After watching many cartoons about inventors, I started making robots 9 years ago. I am working hard to make this dream come true”, said Mutasım Jibril.
