Kenya, Congo-Brazzaville sign 18 cooperation deals, abolish visa restrictions

On a state visit to Congo-Brazzaville, Kenyan President William Ruto announced the abolition of visa requirements to facilitate people’s easy mobility between the two nations.

The Kenyan president was also shocked to learn that the continent’s low-income countries are spending 24% of their GDP on loan payments, which are suffocating for them.

He also applauded the introduction of Zlecaf, which would aid in the breakdown of borders and the expansion of intra-African commerce, which presently stands at 17%, compared to 70% in the European Union.

William Ruto declared the removal of visas between Congo and his country to promote the flow of people and products.

We, the Government of Kenya, have already taken the decision that nationals of Congo-Brazzaville will no longer need visas to enter Kenya. This will enable us to increase trade between our two countries. Our peoples, businessmen and others need this.

President Ruto has stated that he hopes to resume Kenya Airways between Nairobi and Brazzaville before the end of the year. Several years ago, the airline ceased service to the Congolese capital.
