Kaizer Chiefs Transfer Drama: Salum and Appollis in the Spotlight

Date:

Kaizer Chiefs have been making headlines both on and off the pitch. After their crucial 2-1 victory over Richards Bay on Wednesday, which boosted them to seventh on the PSL log, their transfer dealings have become a hot topic. Unfortunately, their negotiations seem to be hitting a snag as rival clubs swoop in on their top targets, leaving Chiefs fans anxious about the team’s reinforcements.

Feisal Salum: Deal Slipping Away?

Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum has been one of Kaizer Chiefs’ primary targets this transfer window. The AmaKhosi reportedly put forward an enticing offer of R222,000 per week to lure the 26-year-old away from Azam FC. However, Azam appears determined to keep their star player, engaging in discussions over a lucrative contract extension.

Salum, considered one of Africa’s top talents, may remain with the Tanzanian giants, much to the disappointment of Chiefs supporters who were hoping for a marquee signing to strengthen the midfield.

The Oswin Appollis Frenzy

Another saga unfolding is the potential signing of Bafana Bafana winger Oswin Appollis. The Polokwane City star has been on Kaizer Chiefs’ radar, but their bitter rivals, Orlando Pirates, have entered the fray. Pirates, known for their strong relationship with Polokwane City chairman Johnny Mogaladi, are now leading the race for Appollis.

The 21-year-old has been in sensational form this season, making him one of the most sought-after players in the league. A source close to the negotiations stated:
“Appollis is a player that any top team would like to have in its squad, and Pirates are no exception. While a deal may not happen in January, he remains a player in high demand across Africa.”

What’s Next for Kaizer Chiefs?

With both Salum and Appollis slipping out of their grasp, Kaizer Chiefs must recalibrate their transfer strategy to secure the reinforcements they need. Fans will be hoping for a surprise signing or a breakthrough in these ongoing negotiations as the January transfer window approaches.
