India: Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Rise Again Amid Middle East Crisis; Check New Rates

Date:

The price of commercial LPG was increased by Rs 195.50 on Wednesday, following a rise in global oil prices due to the escalating conflict in West Asia. A 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder now costs Rs 2,078.50 in Delhi, according to state-owned oil companies. The last hike was Rs 114.50 per cylinder on 1 March.

Domestic cooking gas rates remain unchanged. The 14.2-kg LPG cylinder, last raised by Rs 60 on 7 March, continues to cost Rs 913 in Delhi.

State-owned companies Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum review aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and LPG prices on the first day of each month, based on international oil prices and currency exchange rates.

Global oil prices have surged nearly 50% after the West Asia conflict disrupted energy supply chains. Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged following a Rs 2 per litre cut in March last year. Petrol in Delhi is currently Rs 94.72 per litre, while diesel costs Rs 87.62.

Earlier, on March 1, the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was also increased by Rs 114.5. Domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged for now. In Delhi, the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder is still priced at Rs 913 per cylinder. The last change in domestic LPG price was on March 7, when it was increased by Rs 60.

Government oil companies revise LPG and ATF prices on the first day of every month based on international market rates and the dollar-rupee exchange rate. These companies include Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum.
