Representatives of 12 leading museums began testing the prototype of the electronic register system
Within the framework of cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland and Solidarity Fund PL in 2022, the project «Introduction of the electronic registry system of the Museum Fund of Ukraine» was launched.
This was announced by X24 Global news with reference to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
Development of the basic software for the IFI electronic registry system continues. For effective work, a working group was created, which included representatives of 12 leading museums of Ukraine of various profiles: historical, natural, archaeological, artistic, etc.
The experience of the members of the working group will make it possible to take into account all needs and to create a easy and useful electronic value accounting system. These cultural institutions take part in testing the prototype, analyze the required functionality, give recommendations for changes and they are the first to test future software.
The next stage of the implementation of the system is the analysis of the level of computerization of museum institutions and existing electronic accounting systems that are used in the territory of Ukraine. Based on the results of the first stage and feedback from the museums, software developers will analyze the business processes implemented in the electronic system, and finalize it. In the future, the task of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine will ensure the registration in the system of all institutions authorized to store items of the Museum Fund of Ukraine, and then the task of the Ministry will be to discard paper recording.
The successful implementation of this project will allow institutions authorized to store objects of the state part of IFIs to independently integrate data on stored, restored, transported or lost museum objects in the register system. The Register will be accessible for interaction with the state and international systems and services for obtaining permits for export of cultural property and further integration of Ukraine into the artistic community of Europe. In addition, the open data of the register will be published on an information web resource for the promotion of Ukrainian art and museum collections.
The state part of the Museum Fund of Ukraine has more than 12 million objects. After beginning a full-scale war the need to digitize the museum resources of Ukraine became urgent.
The project is implemented by the Representative Office of the International Solidarity Fund in Ukraine and is financed by the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland within the framework of the implementation of the public task called «Implementation of the electronic registry system of the Museum Fund of Ukraine».
