Liverpool is set to host a global movement, the #HelpUkraineSong, on May 13, 2023, the final day of the Eurovision Song Contest, to show solidarity with Ukraine and raise funds for Children of War charity. The event, organized by creative company Aurora with the support of the National Museums of Liverpool, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Children of War, and Hoshva PR & DGTL, will be the world’s largest physical and digital flash mob.
Live or online participation
People from all over the world can participate in the event in various ways. The song, The Beatles’ “With A Little Help From My Friends,” will be performed at 12:00 UK time, and people can take part in large-scale events, sing in small groups, or even perform individually from home. Participants are also encouraged to upload their version of the song to social media platforms using the hashtag #HelpUkraineSong on the eve and day of the final.
Solidarity with Ukraine
The event aims to demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine and support War Child’s work in providing education, protection, and assistance to millions of affected children. The initiative has the backing of leading musicians and ambassadors worldwide, and Ukrainian Eurovision Song Contest participants and the public will participate live or online. Partner organizations, including museums, art galleries, theaters, businesses, sports, and public organizations, will involve musicians, artists, and dancers to organize flash mobs across the UK on May 13, 2023, at noon.
