Ethiopia Boosts Wheat Production and Advances Innovation-Led Development

Date:

Ethiopia’s annual wheat production has reached 33 million tonnes, according to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, as reported by Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation, a partner of TV BRICS.

Abiy Ahmed stated the objective of achieving wheat self-sufficiency has become a reality. The increase in output underscores the country’s efforts to strengthen agricultural productivity and enhance food security through modern farming practices and sectoral development.

The Prime Minister has highlighted that Ethiopia has expanded its capabilities in high-tech manufacturing, progressing from the use of drone technology to large-scale domestic production and exports. Additional achievements include urban corridor development projects aimed at supporting innovation, research and skills development.

The combination of agricultural growth, technological advancement and infrastructure modernisation is helping to strengthen Ethiopia’s position as a centre of productivity and economic development on the African continent.
