Egypt to Host International Conference on Gaza Reconstruction in November 🇪🇬

Date:

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has announced that Egypt will host an international conference on the “Early Recovery, Reconstruction, and Development” of the Gaza Strip in November 2025. The announcement, made during the Armed Forces’ 42nd Cultural Symposium, follows two years of intensive Egyptian mediation efforts that culminated in the recent ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit held last month. This forthcoming conference is a strategic step to mobilize global funding and coordinate post-war efforts.

President el-Sisi has tasked Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly with coordinating immediately with relevant state bodies and civil society organizations to establish a national mechanism for collecting public contributions and donations from Egyptian citizens to finance the rebuilding process. This national mechanism is intended to channel the deep-seated solidarity and affection of the Egyptian people toward the reconstruction of the Palestinian enclave, which has suffered immense destruction. The conference will bring together international organizations, donor states, and regional partners to coordinate the implementation of the reconstruction plan, which Palestinian authorities estimate will cost around $67 billion over five years. By leading this diplomatic and financial mobilization, Egypt is reaffirming its role as a crucial regional actor committed to supporting the Palestinian people and achieving long-term stability in the Middle East.
