Denmark has launched a second Ukrainian-language audio guide for Hop On Hop Off bus and boat tours, which will be available at the Museum of National History in Frederiksborg Castle. The announcement was made by First Lady Olena Zelenska in a recent Telegram message.
59 Ukrainian Audio Guides in 38 Countries
The launch of the new audio guide in Denmark marks the 59th Ukrainian-language audio guide in museums and attractions around the world. This project has been implemented under the patronage of First Lady Olena Zelenska since 2020, with the aim of promoting Ukrainian culture and history globally.
“We thank Denmark for sheltering 35,000 of our compatriots and for such openness to the Ukrainian language. Today, we are launching the second Ukrainian-language audio guide for Hop On Hop Off bus and boat tours in Copenhagen. You can listen to the tour in Ukrainian at the Museum of National History in Frederiksborg Castle,” Zelenska said.
Introducing Ukrainian audio guides to the world’s leading attractions has been a fruitful collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Denmark. Last year, Ukrainian-language audio guides were introduced in several museums and attractions in countries such as Brazil, Austria, Azerbaijan, Slovakia, Norway, Lithuania, Indonesia, and Qatar.
New Ukrainian-language Audio Guides
In 2023, two Ukrainian-language audio guides were launched in the Netherlands, one at the Escher Museum and another at the Abraham Bredius Museum. Additionally, the “Ukrainian Bookshelf” was opened in Korça, Albania, and a Ukrainian-language audio guide was launched at the Museum of Medieval Art. Another audio guide was launched at the library of Trinity College in Ireland.
The implementation of the project has been a significant step towards promoting Ukrainian culture and history globally. The availability of Ukrainian-language audio guides in museums and attractions around the world will help to educate and raise awareness about Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage. The success of the project also reflects the fruitful collaboration between Ukraine and other countries in promoting cultural diversity.
