What changes are in the job market of Ukraine

Before the New Year, business activity tends to decrease, but in January 2023 there was an increase in the number of new vacancies. For the first time since the full-scale invasion, the monthly vacancy rate increased by 12% compared to December.

In January 2022, the situation was opposite: the number of new job search announcements decreased by 7% compared to December 2021.

Regions with the largest number of job postings are:  Kiev, Odessa, Lviv, Dnepropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. In Odessa, Kharkiv and Khmelnytsky region there is the greatest increase in the number of vacancies.

Most often, employers look for sales managers, sales consultants, accountants, cooks and drivers.

The most popular positions among applicants are: front-end programmers, testers, web designers, retouchers, and beauty salon administrators.

The number of new and updated résumés for the month increased by 18%, which is less than in January 2022.

The largest number of resumes are placed by candidates from Chernivtsi, Sumy, Kiev and Zhytomyr regions. Despite the problems with light, remote work still remains in second place in demand.

Interestingly, in January more women sought work – 55% of the total number of candidates. The new summaries of men are 44 per cent.

In early January, literary editors, primary teachers, clerks, press secretaries and SEO specialists were active in the market. Their summaries were posted the most.

The largest number of applicants is 16-24 years old and 25-34 years old. More than half of the people (52%) who posted a resume in January have no work experience.

The positions with the highest salary for the month in a row are unchanged. In the list of high-paid professionals remain media abayers, whose fee has decreased to 52,500 UAH and drivers-international – 42,500 UAH, whose salary has become somewhat higher than in December. In January, in addition to the vacancies of managers, the top high-paid workers were among the resellers with a fee of 34,500 UAH.

In January, more than 17,600 new companies and 2,600 new companies were registered.

However, compared to the period before the big invasion, the number of acts increased 1.3 times, and contracts more than doubled.

After the boom of New Year purchases in December in early 2023, the activity of buyers decreased slightly. However, the number of purchases in online stores is still more than before the full-scale invasion of Russia. On average, in January Ukrainians bought twice as much online as before the war.
