Saudi Arabia to Host 26th UN Tourism General Assembly, Focusing on AI-Powered Tourism

Date:

Saudi Arabia is set to host the 26th UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh from November 7–11, 2025, marking a significant milestone as the agency celebrates its 50th anniversary. The landmark event, themed “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future,” will gather delegations from over 160 member states, international organizations, global ministers, and industry leaders. The central discussion will explore the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the sector, highlighting how new technologies can create personalized travel experiences, streamline business processes, and bolster operational efficiency.

Immediately following the General Assembly, Saudi Arabia will inaugurate the first TOURISE Summit (November 11–13, 2025). This new global platform is designed to unite public and private sector leaders across tourism, technology, investment, and sustainability to unlock transformative opportunities and set a forward-looking agenda. The overarching goal of both events is to chart a roadmap for a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive future for global tourism, directly contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Hosting the Assembly and launching TOURISE reinforces Saudi Arabia’s growing position as a global convener and a rising tourism powerhouse under its Vision 2030 initiative. It is the first time a GCC nation will host the UN Tourism General Assembly, underscoring the global vote of confidence in the Kingdom’s commitment to multilateral cooperation and innovation-driven growth in the sector.
