Omar Talaat Moustafa Elected as Egyptian Golf Federation President by Acclamation

Omar Talaat Moustafa has been elected President of the Egyptian Golf Federation for the 2024–2028 term, the Federation announced during its recent general assembly meeting. His election, along with the entire new board of directors, was conducted unopposed, reflecting strong consensus within the Egyptian golf community.

The assembly, chaired by former board member Omar Al-Tawil, approved the election of all seven candidates unopposed. Joining Moustafa on the board are Sherif Fahmy, Ahmed Shalkany, Mohamed Anwar, Ali Sabry, Amr Saleh, and Mohamed Wagdy.

Additionally, the meeting approved the Federation’s budget and activity plan for the 2024–2025 fiscal year. Representatives from several member clubs, including Vice President of Gezira Club Ehab Laheta, Board Member of Sporting Club Dina Manasterly, and Ehab Hosny from Golf Palm Hills Club, were in attendance.

In his acceptance speech, Omar Talaat Moustafa expressed his gratitude to the general assembly for their confidence and pledged his commitment to the growth and development of Egyptian golf. “This is a responsibility, not just an honor,” Moustafa stated. He thanked the outgoing board, led by Ayman Hussein (President), Taymur Abu Al-Khair (Vice President), and other members, for their valuable contributions to the sport.

Looking forward, Moustafa outlined the new board’s dedication to achieving the aspirations of the Egyptian golf community. He emphasized the dual goals of elevating the sport to new athletic heights and leveraging its potential to boost tourism in Egypt. “The door is open for cooperation with everyone to elevate Egyptian golf to its deserved position,” he concluded.

This marks a promising new chapter for golf in Egypt, with a focus on progress, collaboration, and excellence.
