Dubai Announces the Middle East’s First Floating Smart Police Station by 2026

Date:

Dubai continues to push boundaries with its innovative solutions, unveiling plans for the region’s first floating Smart Police Station (SPS). This ambitious project is set to launch by the end of 2026 and promises to redefine public service access to the water.

A Bold Step Towards Innovation

The floating Smart Police Station is part of a larger AED 2 billion initiative spearheaded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The SPS will operate 24/7 without the need for human intervention, providing 27 essential services and 33 additional ones in six languages. These services include:

  • Filing criminal and traffic reports
  • Returning lost items
  • Processing permits and certificates

Designed for Maritime Needs

The station’s cutting-edge design caters specifically to yacht and boat owners, as well as water sports enthusiasts. Its layout ensures quick boarding and disembarking, aligning with Dubai’s vision to become the world’s smartest and happiest city.

The floating Smart Police Station will deliver world-class services at sea while enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors, stated Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Al Tamimi, Director of the Assets and Facilities Department at Dubai Police.

Advanced Features

The SPS employs artificial intelligence and robotics to reduce foot traffic at traditional service centers. It also follows the success of other Smart Police Station models, including walk-in, drive-thru, and traditional SPS units.

Strategic Objectives

The project aligns with Dubai Police’s broader goals:

  • Enhancing community security
  • Raising quality of life standards
  • Advancing the initiative to make Dubai the happiest city on Earth

As Dubai consistently leads in smart city initiatives, the floating SPS marks another milestone in integrating technology and public services seamlessly.
