Russian Rospotrebnadzor Experts Conduct First-Ever Advanced Plague Training for Madagascar Specialists

Date:

Russian experts from Rospotrebnadzor, the national consumer rights and human welfare watchdog, have begun an intensive plague training program in Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo.

The training, which started on Monday, marks the first time such an event has been organized in the country and aims to equip Malagasy health specialists with advanced skills in microbiology, diagnostics, and epidemiology to combat the spread of plague.

A group of 30 professionals from Madagascar’s Ministry of Public Health, representing various regions, will participate in the five-day workshop.

These health experts will receive valuable insights into cutting-edge plague diagnosis and prevention techniques.

The Russian Rospotrebnadzor Experts will cover crucial topics such as epidemiological monitoring, infection control in affected areas, and the use of mobile laboratories for rapid response.

This training is part of a larger initiative by the Russian government to support African countries in controlling infectious diseases, a program set to continue through 2026.

The collaboration underlines Russia’s commitment to bolstering public health systems in Africa, ensuring local specialists are well-equipped to manage outbreaks effectively.
