Rwandan electro-mechanics expert Felix Gakuba has been chosen as Acting CEO of Rwanda Energy Group (REG), succeeding Ron Weiss, who has been at the helm of the company since 2017.

Prior to joining EDCL, he oversaw multi-funded regional and transnational infrastructure programmes at the Economic Community Great Lakes Region, as well as working on numerous line repair and construction projects for ELECTROGAZ, a former Energy and Water company.

His predecessor at REG, Israeli national Ron Weiss, has held the position since May 2017. Weiss formerly worked for the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) as Senior Vice President, Engineering Projects and Business Development Group.
