Constance Ejuma, Stunt Performer in Marvel’s Black Panther, Recently Visited Cameroon

Date:

Cameroonian actress and producer Constance Ejuma is making strides in Hollywood. After spending 17 years in Los Angeles pursuing her passion for acting, she has appeared in films such as Marvel’s Black Panther and music videos for artists like Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé. While Ejuma acknowledges that the journey has not been easy, she remains determined to achieve her goals.

Born and raised in Cameroon, Ejuma did not become interested in acting until her teenage years. Later she started to attend acting classes at the University of Toronto before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of acting.

Black Panther and Beyond

Securing a role in Marvel’s Black Panther movie was a challenge for Constance Ejuma. Despite facing stiff competition, she managed to secure the role of a Dora Milaje warrior as a stunt performer. It wasn’t an easy path, but Ejuma felt grateful to have been given the opportunity to participate in such a significant production. In addition to her work in films, Ejuma has also crafted a one-woman show about the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon that premiered at the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival. She has gained recognition in Cameroon and encourages aspiring actors and filmmakers to not limit themselves to Hollywood.

Building a Legacy

She recently returned to Cameroon to visit her family and commemorate the opening of a school established in honor of her grandmother, who was a strong supporter of education.

“It is a difficult path. But people should do what they can and where they are. People have the misconception that it is only by going to Hollywood that one can become a star or make movies. People are making movies everywhere in Cameroon and Africa in general. Technology has made things more accessible. If you are interested to become an actress or film maker, start to cultivate the love of story. If you are studying literature, pay attention to your studies, read plays and novels” – said Constance Ejuma.

Ejuma’s dedication to her craft has not gone unnoticed. Her commitment to her passion for acting serves as an inspiration to others. She currently serves as the Vice President of Search Engine Optimization at Penske Media Corporation, further showcasing her skill in various fields.
