Cameroon’s U17 Soccer Team Wins in Tunisia

Cameroon’s Lions U17 began their preparations for the upcoming CAN U17 2023 championship with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Tunisian club Esperance in a friendly match at the Zouiten Stadium in Tunisia. Two more matches Lions will play in Tunisia before traveling to Algeria for the championship.

Young Cameroonian goalkeeper Lopez Abou made a crucial save early on in the match, denying Esperance the chance to take the lead with a penalty kick. Despite facing a well-organized and determined opposition, the Lions U17 refused to be beaten. Yonjo Matah finally broke the deadlock in the final minutes of the game, securing a narrow but well-deserved victory for his team.
