Yaoundé School Film Festival: Actress Tatiana Matip Chairs Jury

The annual School film festival in Yaoundé, Cameroon is set to take place from April 19th to 22nd, and will be chaired by well-known actress, producer, and screenwriter Tatiana Matip. The festival, which will be held at the Sita Bella Hall in the Ministry of Communications, was announced at a press conference held at the Quartier Mozart Cultural Center last Tuesday.

Matip to Chair and Sponsor Festival

Tatiana Matip, who has a career spanning over two decades and several awards to her name, will take on the dual role of chairing the jury and sponsoring the annual film event. According to festival organizer Césaire Moutet, Matip’s wealth of experience and achievements make her the perfect choice for the role. Moutet also expressed his gratitude for Matip’s willingness to share her expertise with an audience that has long idolized her.

Jury Composition and Festival Program Announced

During the press conference, the composition of the festival jury was also announced. In addition to Matip, the jury will include cultural journalist Yahaya Idrissou and Edwige Vicky Yempmo, president of the Association of Cameroonian Documentary Artists. The festival program was also unveiled, which will feature screenings of approximately twenty films made by schools from all over the world. The festival will also include master classes, with the first one scheduled for April 20th. This class will focus on acting and will be led by none other than Tatiana Matip herself.

The annual film festival in Yaoundé is a much-anticipated event that attracts film enthusiasts and industry professionals from all over the world.
