Zouria Theatre: Fostering Cultural Creativity in Cameroon

Zouria Theatre is a non-profit association based in Garoua, Cameroon that is dedicated to promoting and preserving culture and art. Founded in 2009 by Ousmanou Sali, a director and actor, the association is made up of both professional actors and amateur who share a passion for theatrical creativity.

“LES REPAPRES”

For the past three years, Zouria Theatre has organized an international festival called “LES REPAPRES.” Held annually in Garoua and other cities in the North region of Cameroon, the festival seeks to promote the local culture and development of the area, as well as cultural actors in general. Through inter and intra cultural exchanges, the festival fosters socio-economic growth and encourages and values artistic expression.
In addition to the festival, the association produces a diverse range of artistic events including plays, socio-educational films, forum theater, and street arts festivals. Through these initiatives, Zouria Theatre creates opportunities for cultural exchange and dialogue, while supporting and showcasing local talent.

Since its establishment, Zouria Theatre has remained committed to promoting and preserving culture and art in Cameroon. The association’s various initiatives have created a platform for local artists to showcase their talents and foster socio-economic growth through cultural exchange.
