The Virtual LitMuseum, an online platform developed by the Kharkiv Literary Museum, has been shortlisted for The Webby Awards in the Apps, dApps, and Software – Art, Culture, and Events subcategory. The award, which recognizes online achievements, is presented annually by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. The Virtual LitMuseum was chosen among the top five out of nearly 14,000 nominees. Other nominees are renowned global organizations – HBO, Netflix, Google, and Apple TV.
A Great Achievement for the Kharkiv Literary Museum
The Virtual LitMuseum was created with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation by Lidia Kalashnykova, an employee of the Kharkiv Literary Museum. A team of Kharkiv IT specialists and visualizers, led by Oleksii Bulat, developed the platform, which is available on both the App Store and Google Play.
The museum’s team expressed their joy at being nominated for two awards: The Webby Award and The Webby People’s Voice Award. While experts will determine the winner of The Webby Award, the public can vote for The Webby People’s Voice Award. On March 21, 2023, the Kharkiv Literary Museum displayed records of Volodymyr Vakulenko, a children’s writer, poet, and volunteer. In addition, the museum held annual poetry readings on the ladder in the courtyard, dedicated to the slain artist.
