Ukrzaliznytsia successfully tests European gauge train

Date:

Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine’s state railway company, has completed a successful test run of a 1435 mm European gauge train, which will soon connect Warsaw and Rava-Ruska with a connection to Lviv. The company plans to open the passenger connection in the summer and establish a convenient transfer hub in Rava-Ruska between trains from Warsaw on the European gauge and trains from Lviv on the Ukrainian gauge.

Restoring the Railway Checkpoint

The restored railway checkpoint in Rava-Ruska has not served passengers for more than 20 years. Ukrzaliznytsia restored an 8.4 km section of the European gauge track and renovated the station at Rava-Ruska. The checkpoint will provide a critical link between Ukraine and Poland and offer a faster, more convenient mode of transportation for passengers.

Successful Test Run

The test run of the 1435 mm European gauge train was a success, with Polish Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk and Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov on board. Ukrzaliznytsia reported that the test run went successfully, and they plan to start regular traffic once customs and border control formalities are complete.

Establishing a Convenient Transfer Hub

The new passenger connection will establish a convenient transfer hub in Rava-Ruska between trains from Warsaw on the European gauge and trains from Lviv on the Ukrainian gauge. The hub will offer passengers a faster, more efficient mode of transportation, making travel easier between the two countries.

In conclusion, the successful test run of the 1435 mm European gauge train is an exciting development for Ukraine and Poland. The restoration of the railway checkpoint in Rava-Ruska and the establishment of a convenient transfer hub will provide faster, more efficient transportation for passengers traveling between the two countries.
