The United Arab Emirates said its air defence systems are actively intercepting missiles and drones launched from Iran. The Ministry of Defence added that the loud explosions heard across the country were the result of mid-air interceptions as forces responded to aerial threats.

Several Gulf countries have voiced concern at the United Nations over Iranian strikes targeting energy facilities and civilian areas. Kuwait’s ambassador, Naser Abdullah H. M. Alhayen, warned that such attacks pose an “existential threat” to regional and global security and violate sovereignty and international law.

Concerns about an energy crisis in Taiwan have risen amid disruptions to natural gas supplies and its 11-day LNG reserves. However, open-source intelligence shows shipments have continued despite the war. LNG accounts for half of Taiwan’s energy supply, with about 30% sourced from Qatar. The Pentagon is considering deploying up to 10,000 additional ground troops to the West Asia to give US President Donald Trump more military options, even as he speaks of peace negotiations with Iran, US media reported.

The Wall Street Journal, citing Defense Department officials familiar with the planning, said the force could include infantry and armoured vehicles. It would be added to roughly 5,000 Marines and about 2,000 paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division already ordered to the region.
